Updated Aug 26, 2007
The ROCKAWAY was my first assignment out of Boot Camp. I left the ROCKAWAY to go to YN/SK School in Groton and then served aboard the CGC SPENCER (WPG 36). Eventually, I went to OCS in 1956 at the Academy, graduated on 29 June 1956 and then on to Flight Training. I was stationed at CGAS San Francisco, CGAD Argentia, CGAS Elizabeth City, NC, and CGAS Barbers Point, Hawaii where I retired on 1 March 1970 with a little over 21 years as a LCDR. Had a great Coast Guard career, was always with great personnel and got all the right breaks and I WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!
